Citi Bike Launches New Valet Service in Battery Park City

The second-busiest Citi Bike station in NYC will have a valet service at the West and Chambers streets docking station.

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — The Battery Park City Authority and Motivate, operators of the Citi Bike program, announced that Citi Bike is now offering a valet service in Battery Park City, the second-busiest Citi Bike station in NYC, to make morning and evening traffic a bit easier for commuters. The service will start Monday, Aug. 29, and will run through October or November depending on its success rate.

Members are responsible for docking their own bikes, but Citi Bike employees will be on hand during designated hours to free up additional docks so members always have somewhere to end their trip. The employees working at the docking station will also have extra bikes on hand, so commuters can quickly drop off or pick up a bike without any hassle.

The valet service will be available at the West and Chambers streets docking station between 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., Citi Bike said.

“This location, right along the greenway and next to a neighborhood with such vibrant residential, commercial, and retail means the West and Chambers Citi Bike station sees high traffic throughout the day. We’re delighted to bring Citi Bike valet service to this bustling area," said Jules Flynn, General Manager of Citi Bike, operated by Motivate.

In July 2016, riders made more than 27,000 combined trips to or from the Battery City Park location, a Citi Bike representative said. This makes the Battery City Park location the second-busiest docking station in the city, following the Pershing Square station near Grand Central Terminal.
