Fire Breaks Out at Lower Manhattan High-Rise
Residents were advised to shelter in place.

LOWER MANHATTAN, NY — Fire officials responded to a fire on the 22nd floor of a high rise building in Lower Manhattan Saturday afternoon.
According to the FDNY, the call for the second-alarm fire at 100 John Street came in around 2:17 p.m. No injuries have been reported so far and as of around 2:45 p.m. the fire was not under control. About an hour later, the FDNY tweeted that the blaze was under control.
City council member Margaret Chin tweeted that residents are advised to shelter in place.
