Man Crushed At Construction Site Near Holland Tunnel, NYPD Says
The man was hit by a weight that fell from a crane, according to reports.
TRIBECA, NY – A man was killed when he was hit by an object at a construction site next to the Holland Tunnel early Saturday, police said.
Gregory Echevarria, 34, from Brooklyn, was working at the site at 111 Varick St, near Broome St., when a counterweight fell from a crane and crushed him, according to the New York Post.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
