Tribeca Gallery Opens Exhibit on Final Fantasy

Hpgrp Gallery will host the exhibit from Aug. 19 to Sept. 3.

TRIBECA, NY — A Tribeca gallery is hoping to bring a legion of video game fans into the art world.

Hpgrp Gallery is opening an exhibit called “The Magic of Kingsglaive and Final Fantasy XV” based on the wildly popular role-playing video game on Aug. 19 through Sept. 3.

The exhibit will showcase film visuals, concept art and illustrations made by Yoshitaka Amano for the background scenes of the "Final Fantasy XV" movie.

The exhibit will offer “visitors the chance to be among the first to step foot inside this fantastic world,” the press release states.

Yoshitaka Amano is a Japanese artist and character designer best known for creating illustrations for the Final Fantasy video games. Amano also designs theatre and film scenes and costumes for films.

"The Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV" movie is a spinoff of the popular Final Fantasy games. The movie will be released on Aug. 19, and is about soldiers who protect the kingdom of Lucis from the invading empire Niflheim.

The video game "Final Fantasy XV" is the 65th different Final Fantasy game dating back to "Final Fantasy I" in 1987. It’s currently scheduled to debut worldwide on Sept. 30.

Hpgrp Gallery specializes in artists that combine both Western ideas and Japanese culture. The New York City gallery is located at 434 Greenwich Street in Tribeca. Hpgrp Gallery also has a location in Tokyo.
