3 Arrested After Hit-And-Run In East Islip
Three people, two in another car and a good Samaritan who joined in the foot pursuit after the fleeing trio, were injured.

EAST ISLIP, NY – Three people were arrested after they fled from a traffic stop and then a hit-and-run crash Tuesday afternoon, Suffolk Police said.
According to police, a Suffolk County Highway Patrol officer stopped a 2017 Nissan Maxima for speeding on westbound Sunrise Highway at Locust Avenue in Bohemia at about 12:55 p.m.
When the officer approached the vehicle, the driver fled the scene. A short time later, the Nissan struck a 2009 Chevrolet HHR at the intersection of Montauk Highway and Pauchogue Avenue in East Islip. The three people in the Nissan fled on foot.

After a short foot pursuit by SCPD Third Precinct officers, the three people were arrested. A good Samaritan, who joined in the foot pursuit after the three people, was transported to a local hospital with chest pains.
Two females, who were in the Chevrolet, were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Charges are pending against the three people arrested and the investigation is continuing, police said.

A note sent to parents from East Islip Superintendent John Dolan Tuesday afternoon said there was an armed robbery at the Dunkin' Donuts located at 13 W. Main St., but police told Patch there were no reports of a robbery at that location.
