EAST ISLIP, NY - Three East Islip High School seniors were recently named Commended Students by the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program.
The students who received the honor include: Claudia Banville, Evan Mauner and Kevin Varga.
The three were recognized for their outstanding test results in the 2016 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, where they finished among the top 5 percent out of more than 1.4 million students nationwide participating in the competition.
