Driver Killed After Car Crashes, Goes Aflame, On Sunrise Highway: PD
The vehicle was traveling on Sunrise Highway when it crashed and caught fire, police say.

OAKDALE, NY — A person is dead after their car crashed and caught fire on Sunrise Highway on Monday night, Suffolk County police said.
At about 11:10 p.m., a 2014 Jeep Wrangler was traveling eastbound on Montauk Highway, just south of eastbound Sunrise Highway Service Road in Oakdale, when it crossed over the westbound lane and went off the road, catching fire, police said.
The male driver, who was alone in the car and has yet to be identified by police, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check, police said.
