East Islip Fifth Graders Celebrate Moving Up With Pride

Drive-through moving celebrations were held in mid-June to recognize elementary school students.

Fifth graders at East Islip’s Ruth C. Kinney and John F. Kennedy elementary schools were recognized at drive-through moving celebrations held on June 15 and 16, respectively. As they rode past with their families in cars decorated with balloons and streamers, the students were cheered on by faculty and staff. Each graduate received a yearbook and gift bag to commemorate their big milestone.

β€œFifth graders, it’s all about you today,” JFK Principal Deborah Smith told the school’s new grads. β€œWe are so proud of your accomplishments and wish you the best as you move on up to the middle school.”

β€œIt was such a pleasure to see all of our fifth graders at this farewell,” said RCK Principal Janet Jones. β€œCongratulations and best wishes to the East Islip High School Class of 2027!”
