East Islip Man Charged With Robbing 7-Eleven At Knifepoint: PD
The 19-year-old was arrested in connection to a knifepoint robbery reported at the local convenience store Friday morning, police say.
EAST ISLIP, NY — A local teen is accused of robbing an East Islip convenience store at knifepoint early Friday morning, according to Suffolk Police. A man entered 7-Eleven on East Main Street at 2:20 a.m., displayed a knife and demanded cash, police said. The man then stole the cash and cigarettes.
Police responded to a 911 call regarding the robbery and officer Christopher Calderone found the alleged suspect, 19-year-old Maxwell Purdy, of East Islip, nearby and arrested him in connection to the incident, police said.
Purdy was charged with first degree robbery. He was scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip Friday.
