East Islip High School senior Deirdre Carney signed a national letter of intent on
May 5 to play volleyball at St. Joseph’s College this fall. She plans to major in elementary
and special education while attending the Patchogue campus.

An outside hitter, Carney serves as East Islip’s varsity girls volleyball team captain
and was named All-League in 2019 and All-Conference in 2021.
