At East Islip, ‘Smashed’ Cars Convey Important Message

"It's choice not chance that determines your destiny – don't text or drink while driving!"

From East Islip Schools: East Islip High School’s Students Against Destructive Decisions Club recently held its annual SMASHED program, partnering with Gershow Recycling and JoMacs Towing to get out an important message to students and the community. Two smashed cars were installed on the school’s front lawn along with a sign display saying, “It’s choice not chance that determines your destiny – don’t text or drink while driving!”

“We are approaching the 100 deadliest days, and it is important for students to know that drinking and driving kills,” said SADD adviser Bridget Lopiccolo.
