The 40-year-old was caught allegedly driving drunk early Saturday, according to the Suffolk County Sheriff's office.

BAY SHORE, NY - An East Islip woman was allegedly caught driving with a BAC level over two times the legal limit in Bay Shore last weekend, according to the Suffolk County Sheriff's office.

On Saturday, Meghan Matthews, 40, was first spotted by deputies on Bay Shore Avenue where she failed to signal a right turn shortly after 1:30 a.m., the sheriff's office said. She then failed to stop, move over, or yield for a marked Sheriff’s car with the emergency lights on until sirens were also active, the sheriff's office said.

The deputy performed standardized field sobriety tests on Matthews and she "demonstrated clues" that she was intoxicated, the sheriff's office said. She was then arrested and transported to the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office Station 1 for processing. She submitted to a chemical breath test resulting in a .22 BAC, over two times the legal limit of .08 BAC, the sheriff's office said.
