LI Craft Classic Returning To East Islip Next Month

EAST ISLIP, NY - The Long Island Craft Classic will be returning to Heckscher State Park in East Islip next month — with one major addition.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 10 from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The highly-anticipated event will feature craft beers from local and national breweries plus a selection of wine and hard cider for sampling as well.

All tickets include a barbeque sandwich from official event caterer; Bobbique as well as live music performances by Albums We Love; a variety of backyard games like cornhole and giant Jenga; and new this year, axe throwing.

In addition, back by popular demand, the 3rd annual Brew’d Competition where local breweries will be going head-to-head battling to be named this year’s winner.

Each competing brewery must use the fan-curated ingredient and brew a beer (style of their choice) for an on-site attendee fan-favorite vote. This year’s ingredient is mango.

"The ability to sample craft beers, a variety of wines and artisanal hard ciders in a beautiful setting like this state park is one of the reasons this show is so popular," Andy Calimano, owner of event producer, Starfish Junction said. "The Long Island Craft Classic is an amazing showcase for local breweries and wineries. We’ve pulled together a great lineup and some fun activities, like axe throwing, to make sure this event continues to keep its reputation as summer’s best fest."

The event offers two ticket options: VIP, which costs $75 per person and General Admission, which costs $55 per person.

All ticket holders will receive a barbeque sandwich and unlimited beer, wine, and cider tastings.

There are also designated driver tickets are available for $12 per person which includes the barbeque sandwich but no alcohol sampling.

The Park will also collect $10 per vehicle for parking. Parking is free for vehicles with a valid NYS Empire Pass.

VIP ticket highlights include an additional bonus preview hour (from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.) to meet the brewers and taste special, limited-release beers reserved for this hour in the special VIP tented area.

In addition, VIP tickets offer express admission processing, VIP seating area, access to VIP-only bathrooms, and a collectible tasting glass.

This is a 21+ event. Valid photo identification is required by all attendees for admission.

The event will help raise money and awareness for two incredible local charities including Kids Need More (KidsNeedMore.org) and Natural Heritage Trust (nysparks.com).
