Man Burglarized 4 Stores At East Islip Strip Mall In 1 Night: PD

The 57-year-old was charged with breaking into the 4 stores one night last week, police say.

EAST ISLIP, NY - A Central Islip man was arrested on Saturday for burglarizing four businesses at an East Islip strip mall last week, according to Suffolk Police.

Police said that 57-year-old Gene Fairbrother committed four burglaries on Jan. 13, at 11:45 p.m. at the following businesses all located in the strip mall at 126 East Main Street:

  • Pudgies
  • D.S. Happy Nail
  • Lori’s Dance Center
  • Verizon

After an investigation by Third Squad detectives, Fairbrother was arrested and charged with four counts of third degree burglary, fourth degree criminal mischief and third degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, police said.

Fairbrother was held overnight at the Third Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday.
