
EAST ISLIP, NY – A 28-year-old man was arrested after slashing a man in the face during a fight in East Islip early Saturday, Suffolk Police said.
Mario Thomas, of Central Islip, is charged with second degree assault. He was held overnight at the Third Precinct for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip Sunday.
According to police, Thomas cut a man with a knife during a fight on Bayview Avenue near Main Street at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

The victim, who police did not name, suffered a large laceration to his face. He was treated and released from a hospital.
