Meet The 2020 East Islip Valedictorian And Salutatorian

East Islip High School’s Class of 2020 valedictorian and salutatorian are Caroline Meehan and Justine Rizzo, respectively.

Meehan, an AP Scholar with Distinction and Long Island Arts Alliance Scholar-Artist, finished with a weighted GPA of 109.22. A News 12 Scholar-Athlete, she earned All-Division status for spring track and Academic All-County status for cross-country and track. As a violinist, Meehan earned NYSCAME and LISFA recognition and serves as president of the school’s Tri-M Honor Society. She will study mechanical engineering at Northeastern University.

Rizzo, an AP Scholar with Distinction and AP Capstone Diploma recipient, earned a GPA of 107.94. She is co-president of the school’s National Honor Society, a member of the Foreign Language Honor Society and first violinist of the honors symphony orchestra. Rizzo will attend the University of Delaware, where she plans to major in chemical engineering.
