Police Activity Reported In East Islip

EAST ISLIP, NY - Police activity was reported in East Islip on Friday afternoon.

Suffolk Police could not confirm what the activity was but did say they were searching for someone.

The East Islip School District announced that there was "an incident with police activity near Irish Lane" at about 1:30 p.m.

According to a post on the school district's Facebook page, there was no threat to any of the schools, but officials did move extra security to the schools.

"Please note that we take direction from the Suffolk County Police Department during any situation like this," the message read. "At no time were we asked to go into any sort of lockdown or other emergency procedure."
