Remains Of East Islip Woman Discovered In Florida

While the cause of death is still unknown, police are investigating the 20-year-old's death as a homicide.

PALM BEACH, FL - The remains of an East Islip woman were discovered in Palm Beach, Florida last week, the Palm Beach Sheriff's office confirmed.

On May 21, 20-year-old Jenna Jacobsen was reported missing after she was last seen on South H Street in Lake Worth Beach on April 25.

Last Thursday, deputies responded to Southwinds Drive in Lantana in response to human bones found lying in the natural area.

Detectives from the Violent Crimes Division responded to investigate further.

After conferring with the medical examiner’s office a decision was made to call a Forensic Anthropologist to the scene to determine if the bones are human.

On Sunday, the sheriff's office confirmed the remains discovered were of Jacobsen.

The medical examiner told detectives she has died of undetermined means, however, detectives are investigating her death as a homicide.

Jacobsen in the area to attend a substance treatment center, but never made it there her father, Chris Jacobsen of East Islip, told WPTV.
