EAST ISLIP, NY - A video circulating on social media shows the messy aftermath of an apparent picnic held at Heckscher State Park in East Islip this past weekend.
In the video, posted on Facebook by local resident Dhenyce Ramuto, trash can be seen in the grass and the parking lot around the picnic area in north part the park. The video was posted on Sunday night.
"Heckscher State Park littered with so much trash tonight. Sad," Ramuto wrote in the post. "The parking lot was really bad too. So close to the bay."

"Yesterday was exceptionally bad but if you go to that field in the summer on a Sunday it's often littered," she told Patch.
She even witnessed one man peeing in the parking lot.
"Guys would just piss right in front of families in their cars," Ramuto said. "So gross. Bathroom was right behind him."
Dhenyce's husband, Brandon Ramunto, told News12 the two went to the park around 8 p.m. to watch the sunset and noticed the area looked like "a landfill."
"It was completely disgusting," he told News12. βPeople were throwing trash out of their cars, throwing trash on the ground, leaving their trash on the picnic tables. Iβve never seen anything like it before. It was absolute filth down here.β
