77-Year-Old Man Mugged, Breaks Rib And Wrist In E Village: NYPD

Police are looking for the thief who mugged an elderly man, leaving him with a broken rib and wrist.

EAST VILLAGE, NY — Police are searching for a mugger who attacked an elderly man on Monday in the East Village.

The man approached a 77-year-old victim and pushed him to the ground, taking $900 in cash on Monday around 5 p.m. at 771 Broadway, police said.

The elderly man suffered a broken rib and wrist and was sent to Cornell Hospital for treatment, police said.

The individual fled southbound on Broadway.

The man was described as 40 to 45 years old and 5-foot-5, according to police. He was last seen wearing a blue hoodie.
