Accused Hell's Angels HQ Shooter Arrested

Police arrested Anthony Iovenitti, 52, Tuesday.

EAST VILLAGE, NY — Police arrested Anthony Iovenitti, 52, on Tuesday, the man they believe shot and injured a 25-year-old man outside the Hells Angels' clubhouse in the East Village Dec. 11. Iovenitti allegedly shot David Martinez for moving an orange cone outside the clubhouse, which gang members use to reserve parking spots for their motorcycles.

Martinez was driving with friends by the Hells Angels' headquarters on Third St. near 1st Ave. when he stopped to move the cone, police said. A member of Hells Angels confronted the man, and other Hell's Angels members and Martinez's friends joined the dispute. This escalated into a full-out brawl.

Police said the brawl ended when Martinez was shot in the stomach.
