Knifeman Steals $2K From East Village Deli Employee: NYPD

A knifeman and his accomplice robbed an East Village deli of over $2000 just after midnight on Thursday, police said.

EAST VILLAGE — Two men, one with a knife, robbed a deli employee of over $2000 at midnight on Thursday, police said.

Two men walked into Raji's Deli & Smoke Shop at 149 First Ave. between Ninth and 10th Sts. just after midnight on Thursday, according to police.

One unveiled a knife, demanding cash from the 45-year-old deli employee, police said.

The two thieves removed cash and the employee's wallet before fleeing the deli with approximately $2200, according to police.

Police said the men were approximately in their 20s.

Surveillance images from the deli during the incident show one man wearing a dark-colored hoodie and the second man wearing a grey hoodie underneath a burgundy jacket.
