Legendary Staten Island Pizzeria Joe And Pat's Opening East Village Outpost

The nearly 60-year-old business is making it's way to the Big Apple.

EAST VILLAGE, NY — The iconic Staten Island pizzeria Joe and Pat's is bringing its renowned thin-crust pies to its first-ever Manhattan outpost. The almost 60-year-old business is slated to open at 168 First Ave. near 10th Street in the East Village in the next six months, Eater reports.

Dubbed by many as one of the top pizzerias in all of New York City, Joe and Pat's has been recognized by the New York Times, New York Magazine, Staten Island Advance and many others for it's "famous" cracker-thin crust pizza, tangy sauce and fresh cheese.

The menu also features a variety of pastas, salads and appetizers like wings and calamari to pick from.

The business is family-run, and owner Casey Pappalardo and several uncles will run the outpost in the East Village, Eater reports. The restaurant is expected to hold 50 people and have a bar.

The family also has a sister restaurant, Rubirosa in Nolita, that's been open for years. Rubirosa serves a similar thin crust pizza, but the Joe and Pat's East Village outpost will be an exact copy of the Staten Island original, with the same pizza and same food.
