4 Busted in East Hampton During Suffolk County DWI Task Force Saturday: Police

The crackdown on drunk driving on the East End also took place in Sag Harbor and on Shelter Island, police said.

EAST HAMPTON, NY - The crackdown on drunk drivers continued on the East End Saturday night, as the East Hampton Village Police Department took lead agency townwide for a Suffolk County DWI Task Force sweep that netted four arrests, police said.

According to East Hampton Village Police, the task force was in effect from 8 p.m. Saturday until 4 a.m. Sunday.

The task force also operated simultaneously in Sag Harbor and on Shelter Island, with their own statistics, police said.

Arrested in the East Hampton DWI task force, according to East Hampton Village Police Chief Jerry Larsen, were:

- Abby Lauri, 22, of Manhasset, arrested in Amagansett and charged with driving while intoxicated.

- Richard Halloran, 24, of Washington, D.C., arrested in Amagansett and charged with driving while intoxicated.

- Michael Angelo, 25, of Huntington, arrested in East Hampton and charged with driving while intoxicated.

- Timothy Fried, 33, of New York, NY, arrested in East Hampton and charged with driving while intoxicated.
