East Hampton Driver Involved In Crash With Pedestrian Charged With Driving While Impaired By Drugs: PD

The incident took place at about 10 a.m. Monday morning in Bridgehampton, police say.

BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY — An East Hampton woman was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs after a crash involving a pedestrian in Bridgehampton Monday morning, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, at about 10:03 a.m., a call came in about a crash involving a pedestrian on Haines Path.

Noelle Haas, 57 was found to have operated her motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs, police said.

Both the pedestrian and Haas suffered injuries and were taken to the hospital for further treatment, police said.

Haas was arrested and later brought to Southampton Town police headquarters for arrest processing, police said.

She was charged with one count of driving while impaired by drug, a misdemeanor, and one count of possession of a controlled substance in a non-original container, a misdemeanor, police said.

She was held overnight to appear in Southampton Town Justice Court for morning arraignment, police said.
