1. East Hampton Gathers to Remember 9/11 (danspapers.com) — East Hampton residents, firefighters, and police gathered at the Amagansett 9/11 monument to mark the 25th anniversary of the attacks, with local leaders laying wreaths and raising flags. The memorial includes a steel beam from Ground Zero and bricks honoring local families, drawing participants from East Hampton, Bridgehampton, Amagansett, Springs, and Sag Harbor in a shared remembrance.

2. Source of Contamination Clear, Next Steps Not So Much (easthamptonstar.com) — East Hampton residents are pressing state officials for long-term health monitoring after PFPrA contamination was traced to firefighting chemicals used at the East Hampton Energy Storage Center fire in 2023. State experts say the chemical clears the body quickly but acknowledge major data gaps, while promising cleanup of the groundwater plume feeding Suffolk County Water Authority wells south of the site.

3. Huntting House, Restored, Seeks Variances (easthamptonstar.com) — A restored 1896 Queen Anne home on Huntting Lane in East Hampton Village is seeking zoning variances to raise its aging garage roof, add pool equipment inside, and slightly expand storage space. The property, in the Huntting Lane Historic District, has Design Review Board support for garage changes, and zoning board members appear inclined to approve the requested relief.

4. Georgica Pond Oyster Reef Gets High Sign (easthamptonstar.com) — East Hampton Town Trustees have unanimously approved building another oyster reef in Georgica Pond, aiming to further improve water quality and curb harmful algal blooms. Scientists report the pond's oysters are thriving and reproducing, with the new reef planned off Briar Patch Road in a location chosen to avoid conflicts with baymen who fish and crab there.
