Handyman Busted After Stealing Jewelry — Twice — From East Hampton Home: PD

EAST HAMPTON, NY — A Hamptons handyman was arrested after stealing jewelry — twice — from an East Hampton home, police said.

According to East Hampton Town police, on Friday at about 7:06 a.m., Bryan Ismael Morocho Albarracin, 21, who lives in Hampton Bays, was arrested and charged with grand larceny and burglary.

Morocho Albarracin entered a home on Katie Lane in Amagansett while working at the property between June 15 and June 19, and stole multiple pieces of jewelry from within the residence, police said.

On July 17, Morocho Albarracin returned to the same Katie Lane residence and again stole several pieces of jewelry, police said.

Following an investigation, East Hampton Town Police detectives identified Morocho Albarracin as a suspect, officials said.

On Friday, Morocho Albarracin was located by detectives on Springville Road in Hampton Bays, where he was placed under arrest and transported back to East Hampton Town Police headquarters, police said.

Morocho Albarracin was charged with second-degree burglary, a Class C felony; third-degree grand larceny, a Class D felony; and fourth-degree grand larceny, a Class E felony, police said.

Morocho Albarracin was held at East Hampton Town police headquarters with an arraignment scheduled for Friday at the East Hampton Town Justice Court, police said.

Morocho Albarracin is self-employed as a handyman, police said.
