Prosecutors say the pair prioritized applications from contractors who paid them, issuing permits within days. Sentencing is set for December, and the case highlights longstanding understaffing and fairness concerns in the town's permitting process.

2. Cheering 18 Nonagenerians (easthamptonstar.com) — East Hampton Town just threw its annual "Over 90" party in Amagansett, honoring 18 residents in their 90s with proclamations and plenty of music and dancing. The celebration also marked 52 years of the town's nutrition program, which helps many of the honorees stay active and connected. Officials praised these nonagenarians as the heart of the community.

3.
