• Operations Suspended At 2 East End Battery Storage Facilities: Romaine (patch.com) — Operations at the Cove Hollow Road battery storage facility in East Hampton have been suspended while Novec 1230 is removed and fire-safety and environmental safeguards are reassessed after PFAS contamination linked to a 2023 fire. Town and county officials are pushing for a full remediation plan, expanded groundwater testing, and protection for residents' drinking water, including nearby private wells and Suffolk County Water Authority supplies.
