Areas in the Hamptons Closed to Shellfishing
The areas have been closed due to stormwater runoff caused by the heavy rain on Thursday.

The New York State Department of Conservation (DEC) have announced that several areas in both Southampton and East Hampton have been closed to shellfishing as of Friday.
The areas have been closed due to the excessive stormwater runoff caused by the heavyΒ rain on Thursday, which could cause conditions causing shellfish to be hazardous to use as food.
The following areas in the Hamptons have been closed to shellfishing until further notice:

- SOUTHAMPTON - all of Noyac Creek and Sag Harbor as well of its tributaries; all of Shinnecock Bay and its tributaries lying west of the southbound lanes of the new Ponquogue Bridge.
- EAST HAMPTON - all of Sag Harbor and its tributaries; all of Three Mile Harbor; all of Hog Creek; and all of Acabonac Harbor and its tributaries.
