'Barefoot Contessa' Honored For Giving Back: Photos

Ina Garten has worked tirelessly to preserve the history of East Hampton said, event organizers said.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — Ina Garten is known worldwide as culinary expert, author, retailer and host of the Food Network's Barefoot Contessa.

Saturday evening, however, the East Hampton Historical Society honored Garten for her many years of dedicated community service.

More then 150 supporters gathered in the garden at Clinton Academy to enjoy Garten' company, while EHHS Executive Director Jill Malusky spoke of Garten's many contributions to the preservation of the rich history of the town.

Guests also had the opportunity to tour current exhibits "Young Jackie on the South Fork" and "Caught In a Flash".
