Bay Street Theater's Exciting 2018 Mainstage Summer Season

A season subscription to Bay Street would make a great holiday gift for your friends and family!

As a playwright and theater reviewer, I am excited to share with you Bay Street Theater’s choices for the upcoming 2018 Mainstage Summer Season.

The first production will be the World Premiere, “FELLOW TRAVELERS,” by Jack Canfora, which will run from May 29 till June 17. This play is set during one of Hollywood’s darkest hours: the Blacklist days. This new play, with a fascinating cast of characters: the award-winning playwright, Arthur Miller; one of the world’s greatest directors, Elia Kazan; and one of the world’s most iconic legends, Marilyn Monroe explores the devastating politics of the McCarthy-era and how this witchhunt affected these three Hollywood giants.

The second scheduled production,“FROST/NIXON,” by Peter Morgan will run from June 26 till July 22. Morgan is perhaps best known for being the creator of Netflix’s “THE CROWN” and the writer of the “THE QUEEN.” “FROST/NIXON” is based on the eye-opening series of interviews between British journalist, David Frost and former President Nixon three years after his resignation.

The season will close on a high-note with a production of “EVITA,” by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. For decades audiences have been fascinated by Eva Peron’s unforgettable life story. The show will run from July 31 till August 26.

The cast and creative teams for all these exciting shows will be announced soon.
