AMAGANSETT, NY — A shop owner in Amagansett is doing her part to help feed the hungry on the East End this holiday season.

According to Kate Mueth, founder of The Neo-Political Cowgirls, on Wednesday, a fundraiser will be held at the Sunshine Shop in Amagansett, directly across from the Amagansett School, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

"This special little boutique has the biggest heart of gold! The owner, Heidi Humes, has been a solid, diehard, never-tiring partner with The Neo-Political Cowgirls and our Little Free Food Pantry movement here on the East End," Mueth said.

"Come to browse, maybe purchase a gift or two for the holidays, and in doing so not only will you kibitz with some incredible people, but you will also support our Sunshine Little Free Food Pantry," she said.

Individuals can also bring a non-perishable food item and/or feminine hygiene products to be placed directly in the pantry.

"We would be forever grateful," Mueth said. "Hunger and food insecurity in our community has reached crisis mode and those who keep an eye on the data and the housing changes warn us that in the next six months hunger in the Hamptons will be at its highest rate ever seen .In joining us you will not only connect with a warm-hearted community, but you will also find a jingle in your heart for sharing and caring with our neighbors."
