Paintings by Jonathan Nash Glynn on Exhibit at Temple Adas Israel
Artist Jonathan Glynn's exhibit will focus on a series of paintings and photographs of aluminum sculptures inspired by the Jewish mezuzah.
The paintings of Jonathan Glynn are on exhibit at Temple Adas Israel in Sag Harbor until Oct. 31, 2012. There will be a reception at Adas Israel in Sunday, Oct. 21 at 4pm, followed by a wine reception at Glynn's house.
Glynn has exhibited his works in solo shows at various venues in New York City and participated in group shows across the country. Museum exhibits have included the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA and the Detroit Institute of the Arts.
Glynn was founder and president of a successful graphics company, Glynn Palmer Associates, Inc, before devoting himself solely to his art in 1982 at the age of 30, working in ceramics as well as painting and sculpture. He is also the founder of “Wings Over Haiti,” an umbrella organization that began when Glynn, a licensed pilot, flew supplies into Haiti after the catastrophic earthquake in January 2010.

Glynn’s current exhibit will focus on a series of paintings and photographs of aluminum sculptures inspired by the mezuzah, is a parchment scroll inscribed with specific blessings from the Torah, including the Sh’ma, usually enclosed in a decorative case.
