you ever wondered if there are any signs that life was on Mars? On
May 6, 2026, at 7:00 PM, ET, Hamptons Observatory and co-host Suffolk
County Community College will present a free, virtual lecture by
Stony Brook University geoscientist, Dr. Joel Hurowitz, who is acting
principal investigator of the <a href="https://science.nasa.gov/mission/mars-2020-perseverance/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Perseverance</a>
 team. The rover recently discovered the most compelling evidence yet
of potential ancient life on Mars. Dr. Hurowitz will discuss the
mission, its findings and their implications regarding the potential

The author of twelve children’s books, screenplays, creator of a successful cookie company, and all-around treasured community member joins us for May’s Knowledge Friday. Currently adopting his stories into animated shorts and movies, Billy has an irresistible spark of imagination. Hear how his unlikely journey from a Manhattan based cookie company led to a life of continuous creativity, including the journey of becoming a writer with dyslexia. Billy is joined in conversation by Steve Hamilton, co-founder of Bay Street Theater.
And true to his spirit of giving back to the community, the altruist promises to bring cookies for the audience to enjoy! Likewise copies of Billy’s books will be available to purchase, with proceeds to benefit The Church.

Last year marked the 100th anniversary of the publication of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, a classic of American Literature that many think deepens in significance with repeated readings. Our Fabulous Variety Show (OFVS) Crew is a wonderful space to build community, learn performing arts techniques and have so much fun! The Toddies Crew is best for students ages 4-5 who have not yet started kindergarten. Crew members get discounts on most OFVS offerings including classes, excursions and shows as well as special exclusive events like our Crew-B-Q and our Crewbilee end-of-the-year celebration! These Crew Sessions include acting, dance, music, and performance training for these budding performers! This class is a great introduction to the performing arts along with fun arts and crafts activities. Students will learn how to work together, use their imaginations and express themselves creatively through play while having tons of fun.

Enjoy Crew Sessions included in your membership on MOST Saturdays during the 2025-2026 school year! Toddies will NOT meet on the following Saturdays: May 9 May 16

Share the Harvest Farm invites the community to celebrate the start of the season at its Spring Market on Saturday, May 2nd at St. Luke’s Church in East Hampton.
This lively, community-centered event will feature 20 local vendors offering artisan goods, prepared foods, and handmade items. Guests will enjoy live music by Reilly Rose, a curated raffle featuring local experiences and products, and a welcoming space to gather and connect.
Adding to the experience, guests will be able to enjoy “Spring in a Bottle” from Wölffer Estate, served by EAST + PALM to sip while they browse.
The Spring Market serves as an important fundraiser for Share the Harvest Farm, with participating vendors donating 20% of their proceeds to support the farm’s spring start-up costs. These funds help power the farm’s mission of growing and donating fresh, organically grown produce to families across the East End, often within hours of harvest.
