Our Fabulous Variety Show invites students grades 3-5 to build your ballet foundation with this introductory class specifically designed for them! Dancers will focus on core ballet technique, proper posture, and muscle control through center-floor combinations and across-the-floor exercises. This class is a great way to develop strength, coordination, and confidence while building essential ballet skills.
Class runs every Thursday from 9/17-11/19
Full semester: $355.00, Drop-in: $35.00 Full semester tuition fees include the showcase performance at Guild Hall in December! Enjoy professional photos and videos of the show, one costume, one complimentary ticket and access to cast rate tickets for the production!

About the book: 1969. Lena Rosen is an intelligent, observant teenager torn between spontaneity and self-consciousness. When Lena becomes the associate editor of the school newspaper&nbsp;The Beacon, she's drawn into the swirling discourse surrounding the Vietnam War, civil rights, environmental disasters, and campus protests—while also grappling with her growing attraction to Jack Stone, the paper’s editor. As the year progresses and the antiwar movement gains momentum, the unrest builds at Waverley High. Lena wrestles with her own cultural and religious identity as a Jewish teen while she and her fellow students struggle to cope with racial discord, a bomb threat, and the emotional toll of a world that seems to be unraveling. When tragedy collapses the distance between headlines and Lena’s own life, she must decide what it means to stand for peace—and to hope for a better world.
About the Author
LINDA KASS&nbsp;began her career as a magazine journalist and correspondent for regional and national publications.&nbsp;She is the author of three previous works of historical fiction:&nbsp;Tasa’s Song&nbsp;(2016),&nbsp;A Ritchie Boy&nbsp;(2020), and&nbsp;Bessie&nbsp;(2023). A longtime civic leader, she is the founder and owner of Gramercy Books, an independent bookstore in Central Ohio. Linda lives in Columbus, Ohio. Susan Scarf Merrell
Susan Scarf Merrell is the author of Shirley: A Novel, which became a major motion picture starring Elisabeth Moss and Michael Stuhlbarg. She is also the author of A Member of the Family, and The Accidental Bond: How Sibling Connections Influence Adult Relationships. With the novelist Meg Wolitzer, she created the BookEnds Fellowship novel revision program. Merrell taught for many years in the MFA in Creative Writing &amp; Literature at the Lichtenstein Center of Stony Brook Southampton, served as fiction editor of The Southampton Review and directed The Southampton Writers Conference. Essays, book reviews and short fiction appear most recently in The New York Times, Newsday, The Los Angeles Review of Books, The Common Online, The Washington Post, and East Magazine.

This Our Fabulous Variety Show acting workshop class for middle school and high school students will help grow their confidence, improve their communication skills, and develop their acting technique. Through independent and collaborative theatre games and activities, students will learn the art of "improv" and how to create their own original characters, environments, and stories along with exploring other theatre conventions and forms such as pantomime, forum theatre, monologue analysis, and scene study.&nbsp;

Join Our Fabulous Variety Show after school for a weekly Performing Arts Club focused on the magic of theatre! Students will build confidence, strengthen public speaking skills, spark creativity, and have a ton of fun through acting games, character-building exercises, ensemble activities, and imaginative storytelling. Each week, our teaching artists will guide students in exploring their voices, bodies, and imaginations as they work together to create scenes, develop performance skills, and express themselves in a supportive and playful environment. A snack will be provided as well. We&nbsp; recommend that students wear comfortable shoes to move in and bring a refillable water bottle. Students will be walked over from JMMES after school at 3pm. Page to Stage Club only meets on days that school is in session.

Each class includes a warm-up, technique and foundational work, choreography, and time to explore individual style. Come ready to move, let loose, and most importantly have fun! Join us on Friday, September 18 at the beautiful Southampton Arts Center for an unforgettable evening featuring inspiring surf films under the stars, live music, local food and drinks, a community raffle, exclusive merchandise, and more. Whether you're a lifelong surfer or simply love the ocean, Surf Movie Night brings together people who care about protecting our beaches and waterways while celebrating the spirit of the surf community.
Doors open at 5:30 PM, giving guests time to enjoy vendors, food, drinks, and activities before our curated lineup of surf and ocean films begins at dusk.
Proceeds from the event directly support the Surfrider Foundation Eastern Long Island Chapter's work to protect clean water, healthy beaches, and resilient coastlines across Eastern Long Island through advocacy, education, and community action.

The Jay Heritage Center (JHC) is proud to welcome educators to our site during September 2026, Constitution Month, to commemorate our nation’s journey towards independence and democracy. The free program is co-sponsored by the Mid-Hudson Social Studies Council. The event will be the first of many lively conversation about America at 250 with some of our country’s leading history scholars. It is open to teachers throughout the Mid Hudson and Sound Shore communities as well as Fairfield County.
Professors David Blight, Frank Cogliano, Joanne Freeman and Beverly Gage will take the stage at the new Wachenheim Center to examine the history of the nation-state and the contested nature of American national identity. The panel will discuss what the United States and the Constitution have meant to citizens over time and how that vision has changed or stayed constant. &nbsp;The event is FREE but registration is required.
