For our inaugural meeting, we will be discussing Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants by Robin Wall Kimmerer. This beautifully written bestseller blends botanist training with Indigenous traditions to show how other living beings offer us critical lessons on gratitude and reciprocity.

St. Luke 's Episcopal Church

The East Hampton Healthcare Foundation will sponsor a free community Health Fair at the St. Luke’s Church Hoie Hall meeting room (18 James Lane, East Hampton) on Friday, November 6, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Highlights will include flu shots, glucose screenings, blood pressure screenings, and applications for colorectal screenings. Also available will be appointments for no-cost mammogram and pap smear tests for uninsured women over the age of 40. Representatives and information will be on hand from health insurance organizations, Sun River Health Care, OLA of Eastern Long Island, SNAP (food stamp information and applications), mental health resources for children and adolescents (via YES COMPHS, Youth Enrichment Services Community Mental Health and Support), Meals on Wheels information, the Town of East Hampton Human Services department, and a Cornell Cooperative Extension nutrition educator.Healthy refreshments will be served. Marders

The Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center will return to Marders in Bridgehampton for a special Birds of Prey meet-and-greet on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 1 to 3 p.m. The family-friendly event offers visitors a unique opportunity to get an up-close look at some of the Center's remarkable rescued birds of prey while learning about these fascinating creatures and the importance of wildlife conservation.
Throughout the afternoon, guests will have the chance to meet several of the Center's feathered ambassadors and discover more about their unique characteristics, behaviors and the vital roles they play in maintaining a healthy ecosystem. Representatives from the Wildlife Rescue Center will be on hand to share educational information about the birds, the challenges facing local wildlife and the organization's ongoing rescue and rehabilitation efforts.
The event provides an engaging and educational experience for wildlife enthusiasts of all ages, encouraging a greater appreciation for the diverse species that call Long Island home. Through interactive educational opportunities such as this, the Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center hopes to inspire the community to become more involved in protecting and preserving local wildlife.
Birds of Prey at Marders will take place at Marders, located at 240 Snake Hollow Road in Bridgehampton, on Saturday, November 7, from 1 to 3 p.m.
