Car Careens Into East Hampton Market, 2 Injured: Cops

The market was closed for cleanup after the crash, police say.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — A car went careening into a shop in East Hampton on Friday afternoon, leaving two injured, police said.

According to East Hampton Village Police, the crash took place at East Hampton Market on Race Lane around 3 p.m. Two people sustained "minor injuries," one from debris and one, from being struck by the vehicle, police said.

No charges were filed in the crash, which was a result of "operator error," police said.
