Choral Society of the Hamptons to Kick Off 70th Season With Christmas Concert

The Choral Society of the Hamptons will be kicking off their 70th season this weekend with their annual Christmas concert.

The concert, A Rose in Winter, will be held on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. at the Bridgehampton Presbyterian Church on 2429 Montauk Highway in Bridgehampton.

The concert will include Ottorino Respighi’s masterpiece Lauda per la Natività del Signore (Laud to the Nativity).

In addition, the Society also will perform shorter selections, all composed before Bach, including medieval English carols, a Venetian polychoral work by Gabrieli, and Christmas music by composers including Praetorius and Vulpius.

For individual concerts, tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. For youth tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door and preferred-seating tickets is $75.

Subscriptions to all three programs of the Society’s season are available at discounted prices.

Before the first performance, the Society will host an elegant brunch at the Bridgehampton Inn and Restaurant located on Main Street and Butter Lane on Sunday, December 6 starting at 12:30 p.m.
