Driver Charged With Felony DWI After Montauk Crash: Police

MONTAUK, NY — A Briarwood, NY driver was arrested recently and charged with DWI after a Montauk crash, police said.

According to East Hampton town police, the incident took place on August 19 at about 2:40 a.m. on West Lake Drive near Duryea Avenue. Dominique C. Denis, 32, was driving a four-door 2021 BMW sedan; the car left the southbound lane and crossed over the fog line before hitting a stop sign and a street sign and then, striking the telephone pole, police said.

Denis was found to be intoxicated with a prior DWI conviction within 10 years, police said. Denis was arrested and charged with felony DWI, police said.
