Driver Critically Injured In East Hampton Crash: Police
The man crashed into a tree, police say.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — A Hampton Bays man was critically injured in an East Hampton crash Sunday, police say.
According to East Hampton Town Police, detectives are investigating the crash of a Chevrolet pickup truck on Northwest Road.
Steven Lane, 25, of Hampton Bays, has been identified as the driver of the truck; he was traveling south on Northwest Road when he failed to navigate a turn and struck a tree on the side of the road, police said.

The crash was reported by a passing bicyclist at 7:08 a.m., police said.
Lane was transported by East Hampton Ambulance to Southampton Hospital and was later airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition, police said.
