Drunk Driver Careens Off Roadway, Crashes Into Resident's Driveway, Cement Pillar: Cops
The crash took place in East Hampton, police say.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — A drunk driver crashed into the driveway of an East Hampton's resident's home recently, slamming into a cement pillar, police said.
According to East Hampton Town Police, Alexander Rodriguez-Orozco, 22, of East Hampton, was arrested on July 5 at 12:10 a.m. on Floyd Street.
He was driving a white, 2008 Chevy van on Floyd Street near Spinner Lane and traveling at a speed "not reasonable or prudent," when he careened off the road and into the driveway of a Floyd Street home, striking a cement pillar, police said.

He was found in the driver's seat with the motor running and the airbag deployed, police said.
Upon investigation, the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was found on his breath, his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, his speech was slurred, and he was unsteady on his feet; he performed poorly on all standard field sobriety tests, police said.

Rodriguez-Orozco was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, first offense, a misdemeanor, and operating a motor vehicle with .08 of 1 percent alcohol or more in blood, first offense, a misdemeanor, police said.
Bail was set at $500, police said.
