Drunk Driver Charged After East Hampton Crash: Police
Cash bail was set at $500, police say.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — A New York man was arrested and charged with driving drunk after a crash in East Hampton, police said.
According to East Hampton Town Police, Darin L. Roman, 48 ,was arrested May 27 at 2:07 a.m.; he was driving a 2017 Honda east on Montauk Highway and involved in the crash.
Upon investigation, the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was found on his breath, his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, his speech was slurred, he was unsteady on his feet and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests, police said.

He was arrested and charged with aggravated DWI: per se BAC .18 of 1 percent or more alcohol in blood, no priors, a misdemeanor, and driving while intoxicated, first offense, a misdemeanor, police said.
Cash bail was set at $500, police said.
