Drunk Driver Hits Parked Car In Montauk: Police
The parked car was on the opposite side of the road, police say.

MONTAUK, NY — A Sag Harbor woman was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after she hit a parked car on the opposite side of the road, police said.
According to East Hampton Town Police, Morgan Leigh Vaughn, 20, was arrested on July 8 at 3:04 a.m. on West Lake Drive in Montauk.
She was driving a white 2009 Lincoln MKX on West Lake Drive near Wells Avenue, then struck a car on the opposite side of the roadway after she drove over hazard markings, failed to keep right, failed to use a designated lane, and drove while operating a portable electronic device, police said.

Upon contact, she was found to have the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath, bloodshot, glassy eyes, slurred speech, was unsteady on her feet and performed poorly on all standard field sobriety tests, police said.
She was arrested and charged with DWI, first offense, a misdemeanor, and operating a motor vehicle with .08 of 1 percent alcohol or more in blood, first offense, a misdemeanor, police said.

She was released on her own recognizance, police said.
