Drunk Woman Fell Asleep In Car At Wainscott Intersection: Police

BREAKING: The intoxicated woman was found asleep at the wheel at the intersection, police said.

WAINSCOTT, NY — A woman was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after she fell asleep in her car at an intersection, police said.

According to East Hampton Town Police, Christina M. Boehm, 60, was arrested on September 12 at 4:58 p.m. and charged with driving while intoxicated, first offense, a misdemeanor, and operating a motor vehicle with .08 of 1 percent alcohol or more in blood, first offense, a misdemeanor, police said.

Boehm was in a gray 2006 Audi sedan when she was seen not obeying the traffic signal on New York State Route 27 and Wainscott Northwest Road in Wainscott and was blocking the intersection while asleep at the wheel, police said.

Upon investigation, police said Boehm had the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath, bloodshot, glassy eyes, slurred speech and was unsteady on her feet; she failed all standardized field sobriety tests, police said.

She was released on her own recognizance, police said.
