East Hampton Bowling Upsets First Place Mt. Sinai
Andrew Payne leads team with 548 series, despite losing on overall score.
Up against a first place team, head coach Pat Hand knew her team had to be ready for a challenge. Despite losing on overall score, the combined East Hampton-Bridgehampton-Pierson bowling team managed to take two games out of three Monday evening against Mt. Sinai at .
The Mustangs (4-2) put the Bonackers (4-2) in a big hole after the first game thanks to a 250 game by Nicholas Exarchou, who finished with a 592. After losing the first game by a wide margin, 1,008-749, Andrew Payne had a 201 in the second game and 193 in the third in a 548 series to lead East Hampton, who won game two, 840-826, and game three, 906 to 900.
"We played a first place team today and they've been blowing out everyone," Hand said. "We were ready for it so for us to come back and win those last two is good for us. They blew us out of the water in the first game with that 250 but our guys are young… I think we're doing really well."

East Hampton has a quick turnaround with a home game against Southold at 4 p.m. on Tuesday. Hand believes it's a much more favorable matchup than the tough Mt. Sinai team they faced Monday.
"Southold's almost in last place so we're hoping to blow them away," she said. "We're hoping to get all our kids that didn't bowl today and maybe get some kids that aren't going to get another chance to bowl in tomorrow."
