East Hampton Man Busted for Driving Drunk: Police
The man crossed over the white line onto the shoulder while driving north on Cedar Street, police said.

EAST HAMPTON - An East Hampton man was cuffed after he was caught driving drunk, police said.
According to East Hampton Town Police, Bryan Stewart, 31, was arrested at 1 a.m. on February 17 on Cooper Lane after he was seen driving a 1989 Volkswagen van north on Cedar Street and failing to maintain his lane by crossing over the white shoulder pavement markings.
Stewart also failed to make a proper left turn; he was “unsteady on his feet when he stepped out of his vehicle, had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, and his speech was slurred,” police said.

He performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests administered, police said. Stewart was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, police said.
