East Hampton Man Drove Drunk With Child, 3, In Car: Cops

He's facing a felony charge for violating Leandra's Law, police say

EAST HAMPTON, NY — An East Hampton man was charged with driving drunk with his 3-year old child in his car, police said.

According to East Hampton Town Police, Glenn A. Kittren, 46, of East Hampton, was arrested on Friday at 7:48 p.m. on Queens Lane; he was driving a 2002 Subaru on Springs Fireplace Road when he was observed with a headlight out, police said.

A police officer observed signs of intoxication and conducted field sobriety tests, which Kittren failed, police said.

Kittren's child, 3, was in the car, police said.

He was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger 15 years old or younger, Leandra's Law, driving with .08 of 1% of alcohol or more in blood, prior conviction within 10 years, driving while intoxicated, previous offense within 10 years, first degree aggravated unlicensed operation, alcohol related, and one count of endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

The child was released to a family member, police said.

Kittren was arraigned at East Hampton Town Justice Court on Saturday; bail was set at $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond, police said.
