East Hampton Town Police Warn Residents of Phone Scam
The scam involves a caller claiming to be from a utility company requesting payment, according to police.

The East Hampton Town Police Department posted an alert on their Facebook page Monday morning warning residents of a phone scam in the area.
The scam involves a caller claiming to be from PSE&G LI requesting immediate payment or home power will be shut off, according to the post.
Police advise not to authorize payment or give payment information over the phone as PSE&G LI will not request payment in this manner.
