- βKristi has been able to retain the storeβs historic setting under high pressure to have the building knocked down, sold or renovated into some kind of βmodernβ deli of sorts. She is one of the hardest working women in Springs, works with the school supplying lunches, hosts free Sunday music on porch and, most importantly, perpetuates the feeling of the local βBonacβ community-- a people whose ancestors reach back to the 1600s.β
Why do you feel this person is an Everyday Hero?
- βAll communities should have a center. A place where people meet in harmony and promote feelings of togetherness and good will. Kristi provides this βplaceβ, this friendly space where young and old feel safe and right at home. Thatβs hero stuff.β
